Vision & Mission:
Break Free USA, Ltd. (BFUSA) is a local (Savannah) nonprofit that has been hard at work trying to assess and address the needs of marginalized groups in the Savannah area, with a focus on the LGBTQIA+ community.
Our vision is one of inclusivity, education, and equity in a world that systemically makes it difficult for people to succeed in a society that looks down on those who face homelessness, hunger, lack of adequate clothing, lack of employment opportunities, and undiagnosed/untreated neurodivergence/neurodiversity.
With the Savannah LGBTQIA+ community, BFUSA aims to create opportunities through additional education and resources. In today’s sociopolitical climate, it is imperative to show the rest of the world that we are not so different, deserving of rights & protections, just like every human should be. Additionally, the need to show LGBTQIA+ youth that they are not alone, and that life is worth living can and will literally save lives.
We put in the work today, so they can live as their authentic selves if/when they may be ready, or feel safe enough, to come out and live happy, fulfilling lives without fear of judgement, violence, or persecution.
